I’ve been thinking this weekend, and I’ve decided that I really need a self-imposed deadline. I’ve been procrastinating. Again. Which doesn’t come as any surprise, but lately I’ve had this voice whispering in my head, telling me this story will not get written if I don’ t si
t my butt in the chair and write it.
So, here’s my deadline: I want to have HER OWN BEST ENEMY completed (though not necessarily polished for submission) by April 1st.
Which means that I’ll need all of you to give me periodic kicks in the rear so that I keep on track. Aren’t you looking forward to that? ;)

Hi Cindy! This is Naomi from the JMBB. I was checking out websites and have been reading your blog. I love it!
I have found that I work best with an external deadline. I always seem to find a way to rationalize myself out of a self-imposed deadline. That said, I want to my have my new ms that I just first-draft finished by May 1 before we get knee-deep in renovations again.
I owe you an email. It will be coming shortly!

*KICK*
Sorry. I couldn’t resist.
I’ve found I’m never able to keep my self-imposed deadlines, but I’ll try and help you keep yours. I saw your e-mail, sorry I haven’t responded yet.
Here’s another kick. Where’s the next chapter?

Hi, Naomi! Nice to *see* you here!
Self-imposed deadlines have never done much for me either, but I’m giving it a try.

Lynn,
You enjoyed that WAAAYYY too much!
I could tell. You should have chapter 3 now (pitiful as it is). I’m hoping to make some good progress on Ch. 4 today.

It’s been a couple days – need a kick? I work better with goals, too. I call them goals, lol. Takes the deathwish out of it for me
