HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Hope everyone in these United States of America has a wonderful Turkey Day filled with many blessings!
I’m currently sitting here being lured by the smell of the turkey in the oven. Yum!
Have a great one! :)
Running on Empty
Literally. (And, amazingly enough, this has NOTHING to do with my struggle to finish my WIP!)
Thursday on the way to pick Science-Boy up from 2nd grade, I ran out of gas. Yes, you read that right–Ran. Out. Of. Gas. What can I say? I’m an idiot!
Although, in my defense, the gas gauge hasn’t worked ever since some dork hit us on the gas tank side of our van. I always try to keep track of how many gallons of gas I put in the car and multiply that by the estimate of how many miles per gallon we get out of the van. But, this time I misjudged.
The good news: I was only about 50 feet from the entrance to the gas station. The bad news: I was on the main road that runs through the town where drivers routinely drive 50+ mph (the speed limit is 45).
Luckily, after about 5 minutes of increasing freakage, some good samaritan came by and pushed me into the gas station. I was still about five minutes late picking up Science-Boy, who was handling my lateness with surprising calm. But, once he saw me, he stomped over and gave me THE LOOK. The one that said, “Oh, boy, you are in so much trouble for not being here when I got out of school!”
Did I mention, yet, that I’m an idiot?
Just Keep Swimming…
A quick fly-by post. I’m here. Sorta. Just busy, and trying to recommit myself to finishing up the last of Her Own Best Enemy. I see the light at the end of the tunnel….I’m struggling a bit because I’m obsessed with making it perfect, but I’ve decided to stop arguing with myself and just write it the way I need to write it, whether that is “perfect” or “rough”.
I can do it,
Yes I can!
If I can’t do it…
Well, then I’m in deep doo doo.
Come January, a-agent-hunting-I-go!
